Pastor Rev. Ian Hare
Ian has been involved in various forms of Christian Ministry for well over thirty years, the last seventeen years of which he has been as a Baptist Minister. He worked for the Birmingham City Mission for ten years, involved in a wide variety of evangelistic outreach, social action and pastoral care. For nine of those years he was based on one of the most deprived estates in Europe. He then spent four years working with Cutting Edge Ministries, based in Bournemouth and Poole, helping various churches of different denominations in their community outreach. In 1998 Ian responded to the call of God to train for the Baptist Ministry at Spurgeon’s College and serving at the same time as the Assistant Minister at Beckenham Baptist Church. He has since served as the minister of Cornerstone Church in Bournemouth for eleven years and King’s Baptist Church in Stotfold for over five years, before coming to MLBC in February 2018. Ian is passionate about sharing the gospel of Christ in today’s world and seeing people of all ages growing to become mature Spirit filled, fruitful disciples, actively serving the Lord in his kingdom.
Ian has been married to Judith for over thirty years, and together they have two married children and four grandchildren. Besides loving the wonders of grand-parenting, he enjoys spending time in coffee shops, often struggling over the DT cryptic crossword, reading, walking, gardening and body-boarding. He loves F1, rugby and cricket, and supports Aston Villa (well someone has to!).
